Hi, I’m Steph Ratchford.

I grew up confident I could be anything I wanted to be.

The problem?
I had no idea who I was.

Like most kids, I followed the path in front of me—
took the classes, checked the boxes, and eventually chose a career simply because I saw someone else doing it.

A moment of chance instead of a foundation of self-knowledge.

I spent nine years as an elementary school teacher, pouring everything into my students
building classrooms, guiding learning, and thinking about leadership.

But something felt off.

Not because I wasn’t good at it.
Because I had never truly asked myself what I was built for.

So I pivoted.

I moved into the corporate world as a travel nurse recruiter and became a top performer, leading teams, improving processes, and driving results.

Two careers. Both successful.

But neither chosen from a place of real self-direction.

That’s when it clicked.

This isn’t just my story. It’s the story of so many adults who were never taught how to understand themselves.

And it’s the gap I see in how we’re raising kids today.

That’s why I created CK Foundations.

I’m also a mom to a 7 and 3-year-old, which means this isn’t just theory.
I’m building this in real time, in my own home.

My mission is simple:

To help parents raise kids who understand themselves early so they don’t spend their teens, twenties, and beyond trying to figure it out.

Because kids don’t need pressure to decide their future.

They need a strong foundation, so they can make confident decisions, adapt as they grow, and align their path with their strengths and preferences—not chance.

Confidence first. Direction follows.

And it starts with noticing who they already are.
